Faisalabad Students Also Get Benefit from Honhaar Scholarship Program

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently launched the “Honhaar Scholarship Scheme” in Faisalabad during the program’s seventh ceremony at Government College University Faisalabad. This initiative aims to support talented students from both public and private educational institutions in the Faisalabad division.

Honhar Scholarships for Faisalabad Students

Maryam Nawaz distributed Honhaar Scholarship cheques among deserving students. She announced detailed figures for the scholarships:

  • Public Sector Universities: A total of 3,211 students received scholarships worth Rs 176.271 crore.
  • Private Universities: 101 students were awarded scholarships totaling Rs 2.89 million.
  • Public Sector Colleges: Scholarships worth Rs 22.033 crore were distributed among 1,378 students.

These scholarships are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide financial assistance and encourage academic excellence.

CM Laptop Scheme Launched

In addition to the scholarship program, Maryam Nawaz also unveiled the latest laptop model under the “CM Laptop Scheme.” This program will distribute 40,000 laptops to students across Punjab, including Faisalabad.

Key Details of the Laptop Scheme:

  • Eligibility: Students scoring more than 65% marks will qualify for laptops.
  • Personal Distribution: Maryam Nawaz stated she will personally hand over the laptops to students.
  • High-Quality Laptops: The best laptops available in the market have been selected for distribution.

A Memorable Ceremony

The event at GC University Faisalabad’s New Campus was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Upon her arrival, Maryam Nawaz was warmly welcomed with slogans and applause. Key highlights of the ceremony included:

  • A special flute rendition of the national anthem by student Aswa Aziz.
  • Beautiful naats presented by Abdullah Raza and Laiba.
  • An emotional performance of the patriotic song, “Yeh Watan Hamara Hai Hum Hain Pasban Iske.”

Maryam Nawaz expressed her pride in the students’ talents and their dedication to their studies. She was also seen interacting with assembly members and students, who referred to her as “The Best Lady Maryam Nawaz.”

Plans to Expand the Scholarship Program

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need to expand the Honhaar Scholarship Scheme. Currently, 30,000 scholarships are distributed annually, but she announced plans to increase this number by an additional 20,000 scholarships to reach more deserving students.

The Honhaar Scholarship Scheme and CM Laptop Scheme are transformative initiatives by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aimed at empowering students in Faisalabad and across Punjab.
